Video: How safe is private diabetic retinopathy treatment?

In this video I discuss the safety of private diabetic retinopathy treatment.

When we treat diabetic retinopathy, they often – and in the large majority of cases – outweigh any risks involved of losing your vision, the worst thing possible is not treating diabetic retinopathy in the timely fashion.

When it comes to laser treatment, it can be a little uncomfortable having the laser treatment and that’s something I would counsel you about, and talk to you about and minimise with eyedrops and the way we deliver the laser.

With injections, they don’t tend to be painful. They are delivered with an eye that is anaesthetised, we give you lots of drops. I’m constantly there to reassure you that everything is fine. And after your first injection you probably won’t worry too much about your subsequent injections.

So, in terms of risks, there are a few and you can download some my information sheets available on my website.

If you want to discuss it further in detail, then you can ring the number in the end of this video and we can chat about it.
