Video: Is there any urgency around having private cataract surgery?

In this video, I give you my opinion on whether you need an urgent private cataract surgery in London.

The long and short is; you can wait. There is a very small chance that you might need to have it urgently and that’s in the form of glaucoma, which I can diagnose for you and I can ensure you don’t have. But the majority of people – if not all, like yourself – probably do not need an urgent cataract surgery.

That’s not to say that we wouldn’t do it quickly, because every day that you’re not being able to focus on things or to read, you’re not enjoying the lifestyle that you’re used to, is a day wasted in my opinion. That’s why it’s such a joy to see people improve after cataract surgery because they can get back to doing things as quickly as they can.

So, no, there’s no urgency, but I like to do it quickly because there’s no requirement to wait. Now if you don’t want a private cataract surgery and if you don’t have the symptoms, then I’m more than happy to review on a regular basis to ensure that you don’t develop the symptoms.

If you want to discuss that further, then you can ring the number at the end of the video and we can discuss your options and your cataract surgery needs.
